Camrose Hill Flower Farm Review

Question:
Hi Tomkin,
As we approach our 1-year anniversary, we’re thinking a lot about our wedding day, and wanted to say thank you again for such a beautiful ceremony. Also, I just took a look at your website and the matrix of wedding locations in Minnesota, and wanted to give you some information about Camrose Hill Farm in Stillwater, Minnesota, since it’s not listed in the venues section yet. As you know, it’s a beautiful setting for a ceremony and reception, and I know your readers are always looking for outdoor options.
The Camrose Hill Flower Farm web site does not have the pricing or many details listed, but I’m sure Cindie Sinclair, the owner (and florist), would be happy to talk to you about that. Unofficially, I guess, I can tell you that capacity is about 200 for the pavilion and tented area. We paid $2,200 for exclusive access on Saturday (and Friday, really, since that’s when setup began and we held the rehearsal, which you may recall my lovely husband and I were both late for…). NOTE: Rental is now $3,000 for Saturday wedding/Friday rehearsal, plus $2,000 tent rental, plus they do the flowers. Catering is completely open, which was the clincher for us. The only wedding vendors you must use are Aarcee for tent rentals (warning: you do have to rent just about everything), and Camrose Hill for the flowers. Contact info is below:

Thanks again, Tomkin! Hope summer wedding season is treating you well!

Carrie and Bud Snead
Answer:
Good morning, Carrie,

Wow, SO good to hear from you! Congratulations on your one-year anniversary. I’m so pleased to hear things are going well (I love seeing you two on Facebook!)

I love all this great information on wedding ceremonies and receptions at the Camrose Hill Flower Farm in Stillwater, MN- such a great place. It’s a beautiful site, and the people there are wonderful. Thank you so much for the pricing information…some vendors are hesitant to give out prices on their website because circumstances can vary so much, but I think it’s always a good idea to give people as much information as possible…how else can couples know if a site is within their price range? Your numbers will be really helpful to engaged couples, as they are searching for a unique wedding site like this. Good for you!

The info is now up and running on my blog, and I’ll post it on the matrix of Minnesota wedding sites, too. Such a great place – you are doing them a huge favor by helping publicize them like this, and you’re doing a huge favor for the brides of the Twin Cities!

Thank you, and hugs to you and Bud!

Warmly,

Tomkin

Hi! I just wanted to comment on the cost of this location. I looked at Camrose Hill initially, because it is absolutely GORGEOUS, but the price has gone up considerably. Besides my own experience, though, I’m also speaking from information I gathered from my photographer who actually got married there herself this last summer. It’s now $3,000 for Saturday rental/Friday rehearsal, plus $2,000 mandatory for tent rental, plus (since they do the flowers) you are looking at almost $2,000 for floral arrangements alone. We had to look elsewhere, but my photographer was not so lucky and, when she rented, the added costs were not presented so up-front. She loved the location, and, in the end, had no regrets, but that was her one big negative about this location- all the costs that they didn’t find out about until AFTER they’d signed the contract.

Also, on a completely non-economic related note, they only allow beer and wine and no hard liquor– just FYI!
